    Miami By Way of Havana – Part 1

    We’re finally on the road. We packed Havana up and are ready to go. The kitties have packed their favorite toys and we’re off. Heading East We left late on the first day. We only drove a few hours, made it to Willcox, and called it a night. We dry camped at the back of the parking lot at a Harvest Host location called the Cattle Rest Saloon and RV Park.     Getting Havana Ready to Roll

    We’ve named the van Havana, for now anyway. We’ll see if it sticks. It seems appropriate for a trip to Miami, the date of which is fast approaching. It seems like there’s always one more thing to do to get ready.  I feel like we really won’t know what we need until we don’t have it..and so it goes. The Kitties My biggest concern is making sure the kitties have what they need to feel safe.  Maria and I can be more flexible.  We’ll figure it out as we go.  They have food, a litter box, toys, a pole, and…

    Settling in to our new Van

    It’s been about a year since my last post. It’s taken some time, but Maria has come a long way since her diagnosis of heart failure. She has gone from an ejection fraction of 26% to 50%. She accomplished it through determination, exercise diet, and lifestyle changes. I should say that we accomplished it, as I have made the same changes with her. In addition to Maria’s health journey, my father passed away since I last posted. He almost made it to 90 years old. The last several years were rough for him, as his Alzheimer’s progressed.
